Costa Rica, in Central America is a country where all roads and trails seem to lead to waterfalls, misty lakes, or jungles, or deserted beaches. It is the ultimate ‘ Choose your own adventure’ land, and has a rich variety of flora and fauna. It’s landmass might be small (0.1% of the world), but it has about 5% of the world’s biodiversity! All good things come in small packages, and that is true for Costa Rica from a traveller’s point of view. With over 840 species of birds, a variety of mammals such as Tapirs and the Costa Rican Monkey species, reptiles and amphibians, Costa Rica is indeed a biodiversity haven.
